Bite less than it’s bark
Enjoyable podcast relating the story of a memorable series. Felt the most interesting episodes were the ones with the camera crew and the last one about Doddy Weir - some genuine emotions on show there. Ultimately though there’s an over-reliance on the same characters for a 10 part series. No South African perspective that I can recall. Not as much insight or story-telling as I’d expected. Yes we know it’s the best tour ever - now tell us why rather than you just became mates, had a few beers, hard graft, ‘Everest’... heard this before. Definitely over-produced - could have used less of the lion roars and the distortion. Felt a bit too rugger-bugger and corporate at times, like a pre-match meal in a tent outside Twickenham (yes I realise there’s a need to pay for the production). Still, hope the class of ‘21 can repeat the trick.

More reviews of Inside The Tour
The background music is annoying to the point where I couldn’t concentrate on what was being said. Subject matter is fantastic but I was underwhelmed by the whole thing and Pougatch is on a ego trip

So engaging to listen to. Loads of brilliant behind the scenes stories told by the stars of the tour themselves. Great to think back to 97, just as we head out on tour again.

Great inside from a classic tour, would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the disproportionate amount of air time given to the highly irritating Austin Healy and his massive ego. The other contributors are far more interesting.
