“TLDR: always useful info, no wasting time with self-promotion, and very short ads. I have never written a review on a podcast before and probably never will for another one. Great stuff.
I recently read an article about how much money Instagram “influencers” earn and was surprised to learn that Pages with even just a few thousand followers can generate pretty decent money. That got me interested in starting a page on my hobby. My goal being that the page will pay for my hobby.
I started my page and did some research on how to get followers and all that. After about 3 weeks I had maybe 400 followers. I was pretty excited especially because my personal IG page has less than 200 followers.
That was about the time I found the Instagram Marketing Secrets Podcast by Derek Videll. I think the first episode that I listened to was “Episode 27: In Depth Hashtag Strategy.” I used the techniques he talks about in that episode and just kind of forgot about the podcast. Over the next week I had 500 new followers! I went back to the podcast, starting listening from Episode 1, followed his IG page @igmsecrets, and even sent him a DM on IG asking him some questions. He was so quick to respond and so helpful.
I listen to a lot of podcasts on finances and self-improvement generally. I like listening to podcasts. However, I will tell you that I have never listened to any episode twice until I started listening to this podcast. The information is just so on point and helpful.
Besides the utility of this podcast, I favor how concise the episodes are even more. Many of my favorite podcasts generally spend the first few minutes - or even just the first minute - promoting some product or service they offer and I just kind of deal with it or skip ahead. You don’t get that here. There’s usually an ad somewhere in the middle but it's so short I never feel the need to skip ahead.
