Re-review: They need to change some things
I used to love this show, but over the past year it has evolved in a way I don't really like. To be clear, I still think Garrett and Kyle are great guys, and they clearly love Heroes. Most of my problems revolved around the analysis provided and the continual fixations the hosts, particularly Kyle, repeatedly glom on to. I really can't bear to hear Kyle casually disparage lower-league players anymore. The thing is: Kyle seems like a super-nice dude, so I don't think he means it maliciously, but it seems like every third point he makes has to do with the deficiency of lower-league players. My problem with this isn't really that it's unkind or whatever. It's just repetitive, boring and unhelpful. Find some other approach to discuss the problems in people's play. Casually mentioning people's mistakes while offering very limited advice isn't a good listen. The other issue I have is just how microcosmic and granular the show can get. Occassionally something as specific as which talent to pick by a certain hero on a certain map in a certain situation will be talked about at length. I will concede this type of honed-in analysis might be exactly what some people are looking for, but I don't find it interesting at all. I think this show could become great again. I just don't think it's great right now.Read full review »

They also don’t have anywhere near the charisma of these guys have. That all said… I hope they put...Read full review »
