The 20 year retrospective episode was a brutally honest and incisive analysis of the the last 4 decades plus of US and Allies military intervention and activities. It highlights the faults in both the political and military spectrum, the failures to learn from experience, and inability to hold to account those responsible for both political and military decisions that led to defeats and the suffering of many thousands. Decisions that fundamentally undermined the legitimacy of the US as a force for stability and good. These guys speak without prejudice and with no disrespect for their nations or institutions. They address requirements and commitments necessary to achieve certain goals in a modern complex world, both militarily and political. They give clear examples which can be examined with hindsight and evidence. The listener can draw their own conclusions, but the content of the discussion is direct, honest and remarkably candid. Very much worth a listen. The Dr.

There is a lack of coverage on the subject and this show helps fill that gap. Unfortunately, the hosts’ aren’t great speakers and their equipment makes it difficult to listen for a whole podcast.
