I discovered this show & now I listen everyday. I really enjoy the hosts take on the happenings of the day.

why
I want to respect this but why do you deny that October 7th was a genocide? If you want Jews on your side why do you deny this?

I’ve been listening since the first episode in 2019. The 10/16/24 episode on UNIFIL was lacking in perspective and full of disinformation. Israel did not commit atrocities at Sabra and Shatilla, that was LEBANESE FALANGISTS. Nevermind that James (whom I hold in high regard) minimized why Israel...Read full review »

I don’t listen to EVERY single episode bc not every title appeals immediately or just subject matter wise isn’t something I’m vibing w/ at the time. I’m not listening to every “leftist” podcast on the internet but I think these folks do a great job at holding that while also existing in reality....Read full review »

Despite this cast’s increasingly desperate attempts at staying relevant, it’s become clearly fringe, and more biased than ever. I have tried hanging in there as a loyal CZM fan, but simply can’t take any more. You are not “anarchist-left”, just lame.

Always good information. I’m sure that it is coming from a genuine place, but the knee-jerk “yeah…” and “Jesus Christ” starts to feel disingenuous and annoying. But if that is the biggest issue they are doing a pretty good job.

The episode featuring Steven Monacelll and Dr. Michael Phillips stood out as informative, thoughtful, and well-researched. I’d love to hear more from Monacelli and Phillips!

Way way way too many ads for this declared leftist-anarchist podcast. Also too many episodes are made for just the content. Some episodes are 30 minutes long but after ads are actually 15 minutes or less. There are episodes that go on too long, others too short (again ads). Lots of episodes are...Read full review »

I listen to several CZM podcasts. I have always struggled with ICHH because of the variability of content and structure. It has some real strengths - some of the interview episodes are brilliant and the frontline reporting from actions is too. But the episodes where hosts read solo off a script -...Read full review »

I used to enjoy listening to stuff Robert and company put out but over the past few years it’s turned into a never ending doom scroll for your ears. It’s an echo chamber of the same thoughts over and over with an anarchist tenor that is really not helpful in todays society

This is where I get a lot of my news these days. I appreciate the global + local perspective and how much on the ground reporting they do. The hosts are funny, have great rapport, and seem to be coming from a relatively sober, well-informed, anarchistic perspective that i appreciate...Read full review »

I’m writing this review about the podcast from its inception up to around 2021. The storytelling at the beginning at most of the episodes about the hypothetical future is riveting, and the writing is quite engaging. I also enjoy the way the episodes are structured. That said—and I’m not going...Read full review »

These podcasts are so woke and leftist it was unbearable. Listen to anything but these people.

i'm enjoying the book club stories very much but i wish Margaret would allow at least some few seconds of space between the stories and the ad break bumps, and at the end before closing remarks. it feels disrespectful to the text and inconsiderate of the listener's experience not to mark...Read full review »

And voice. Soft, lilting, and delightful. He could, perhaps, speak a little more slowly, but that may be down to my ageing brain.

Sophomoric attempt at political hate comedy. I’m middle of the road politically but couldn’t make it through one episode. Spews more spite than box of 7th grade girls. (And about as factually accurate as said box)

Listen to Electronic Intifada or Max Blumenthal/GrayZone instead. Those people are skilled researchers, have informed guests and can hold the line amidst pressure to assume a narrative during a lack of evidence. I'm not liberal or moderate unlike many commenters here. However, if you are,...Read full review »

I always love this show but I was so psyched to hear Andrew!!! I love his channel. It has opened my mind to so many new ideas, especially library economies. A brilliant choice to include him. A testament to the quality of this inspiring show that always teaches me new things and perspectives.

This podcast used to provide interesting (even if terrifying) accounts of things going to s*t, which is ostensibly what it is about, but now it's just bog-standard radical left talking points and very light on actual original content. It’s a decent show. The episodes with Robert and/or Gare are best. Shereen episode sound like she wrote a highschool essay and has to read it aloud.

The show provides biased opinion as fact with no information to back their claims. If the show indicated these were opinions they were giving it would be fine.

So. Hard. On. The. Ears. This podcast is HORRENDOUS. The host sounds like a 15 yo girl who uses like...like every other like word. Like... really? Also, your use of the term Apartheid is abhorrent. Israeli Arabs, like Israeli Jews, are doctors, lawyers, judges, hold seats on Knesset,...Read full review »

In the reviews I read a lot of aesthetic criticisms of a pretty solid show that rightfully doesnt care about this shortcoming- this is a panel show… hosted by activists, journalists and - they don’t hide behind neutrality. Not should they. These people have skin in the game. To the folks who...Read full review »

I implore you to please keep the book club chant. It is essential to my book club listening pleasure. Love the show. Thanks.

The topics and content are generally interesting. On the negative side one or two hosts (not Robert Evans) overgeneralise and exaggerate too much. The episode on the sinking of the rainbow warrior was a particularly strong example of this.

I’ll give it one extra star because the show used to be pretty good. Today after listening to the narrator read uncritically directly from Trump’s campaign website for 20+ minutes I will need to turn this off for good.

Overall, this is a show I enjoy. It offers me a perspective on events, current and historical, that I don't get from the main networks and provides plenty of GOOD food for thought moments. I would listen to Robert make a days long fart joke. That’s how much I love his voice—I wanna make out with it. I also enjoy the jokes and facts it relays, yes. Robert’s voice is so sumptuous, so mellifluous I lap his words up like I’m dying of thirst. I would vocal on his timbre until we’re...Read full review »

Feels like a show being done by journalism undergrads who regard NPR as the ideal, both in terms of delivery and ideology. Unsubscribe.

I was really interested to listen to the Temu episode but I couldn’t even get through it because every other word was “like”. Can’t you throw in an “I mean”, an “Um”, etc.? Any word other than “like”? Seriously.
GLJezebel via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/05/24
Used to be a great and informative show but it’s just been devolving since 2023 into lopsided nonsense. Every Shereen episode especially is just a slog to get thru. Hopefully they come back to actual journalism some day instead of whatever this has become.

This podcast is ran by a bunch of Anarchists. So they often decidedly talk about how they think liberal bourgeoisie governments are better than actual governments ran by communist parties.
