I tried to like this... But couldn't.
I'm a long time fan of Night Vale and their various podcasts (WTNV, Alice Isn't Dead, Within the Wires - all good quality and great listens). But I can't make it through this. The voice acting is incredibly over the top, and the story is lackluster. The only intrigue and mystery is the lack of a tape player, which feels forced. Also forced is the running social commentary of how "brain dead" and horrible technology has made us. I understand the goals of this show, but the execution was done very poorly. I will not be spending any more time on it and will not recommend this particular Night Vale production to anyone.Read full review »
