“I discovered this podcast a few weeks ago and initially I was excited that it offered a broader perspective on tennis that moved beyond the usual fanboy sycophancy about the 'Big Three'. I also enjoyed Calvin's insights into the trials and tribulations of Emma Raducanu and her frequent changes of coach. The coverage of up and coming British players from someone who actually knows them is also welcome. Sadly all my goodwill has been shattered by James Gray's tiresome and desperate attempts to garner five star reviews for the pod. Surely you should be asking for 'honest' reviews not childishly insisting that listeners give you five stars? That peevishness also carries through into James's constant sniping about the (superior) The Tennis Podcast, which he makes a point of not namechecking just about every week. Judging by the number of factual errors he makes in every episode, James obviously doesn't watch much tennis or feel the need to do any research. I wholeheartedly agree with the recent reviewer who complained about the snarky references to politicians. The latest episode (16 May) treated Iga Swiatek's win in Rome as very much an afterthought. It wasn't even mentioned until nearly an hour into the pod. The scandalous issue of lack of equal prize money in that event was also given short shrift. Unless Calvin and George can find themselves a better presenter (preferably a woman) I won't bother with this podcast in future.”Read full review »

“A good listen from two guys with an abundance of tennis knowledge, great enthusiasm , not short of an opinion or two but all said with wonderful humour and affection for a sport we all love.”
