“A good historian is able examine a particular point in time by looking not just at what happened, but why it happened by examining a wide range of factors such as economics, culture, geopolitics, prior events, and mass and individual psychology into a cocktail that is informative, engaging, and, at times, entertaining. JB is able to mix all of these factors in a level-headed, mindful manner that is non-partisan and purposefully devoid of a nationalistic bias. Highly recommend to anyway curious about the question "How did we get to where we are now?" in many different contexts.”
