Jesus at 2 am.
I especially enjoyed the history of the church. After 52 years of being raised in my faith, I learned so much and had so many ?s answered that I have always wondered about in regards to the hows and whys of the different Christian denominations. I am even more convinced now than ever, that when we die and meet our maker, we will all be amazed at just how much we all had wrong. Despite what so many denominations feel absolute about, we can never fully grasp all of God's mysteries. The best we can do is take what we believe to be true and do our best to live up to that while reserving judgement on what other denominations believe. I also enjoyed learning about the different Jewish sects at the time of Jesus. I was very interested in learning what their pre-concieved ideas of what the Messiah would be like and how Jesus was so far off of what they all were lead to believe he would be. (A lesson we should should all take to heart when we debate each other on issues such as the rapture, baptism, homosexuality, women's role in the church, politics, etc., etc.)Read full review »
