Bubble Gum Theology
I'll agree with another writer who said he's an excellent motivational speaker. But that's as far as I'll go. I really do love to listen to him and I am inspired by his speaking but he keeps it so surface-level that he never gets into the "meat" of the Bible or the Christian faith. He ought to blow bubbles up there and sing "Don't Worry, Be Happy". Lakewood's worship is top notch, but I wish Osteen would step it up. Here in Houston, his TV show is followed up by Dr. Ed Young of Second Baptist. The perfect service would be Lakewood's worship, then turn the TV off until Ed Young comes on. It doesn't help when he gets on with Larry King and Larry flat out asks him "is Jesus the only way to Heaven?". Joel's response FLOORED me. He has a national audience and his answer was...........get ready..........."I can't be completely sure, but that's what we believe." !!!!!!!!!!Read full review »

The good part of joel's messages is that he talks about God and Jesus some. The bad part, is we call this a sermon, and not a message or a talk. I think that if someone who doesnt know Jesus sees Him more clearly becuase of one of these messages, thats a good thing. But it would be VERY...Read full review »
