A tragic case of labelling misunderstood traits & characteristic features of humans as individuals.
A tragic story very much of it’s time. Society contributed to the alienation of these beautiful, misunderstood girls. They were driven, by the callous, ignorant people around them to retreat into their own world - in order to just survive each day. The sadness I felt, for these girls, made my heart ache. I hope their peers, in every educational establishment they attended and the - so called - ‘Specialists’ who were involved in their life-long treatment, feel the heavy burden of shame as they remember these special girls, and the life of misery they endured. God bless you, June. I truly hope you have found happiness. 💕

As a Dutch listener I just can’t distinguish what June’s saying. The story is fascinating, but I miss half of it, due to June’s pronunciation. Wonder if it’s the same for British listeners.
