Wonderful podcast that gives June Gibbons a voice
As a child we had the 80s film “The Silent Twins” on VHS. The story was completely haunting. For me this podcast comes full circle. I have always wondered what happened to the twins and why. This podcast finally tells the story from June Gibbons point of view. What is brilliant about the podcast is hearing June’s actual voice. That makes it so powerful. The twins are literally silent no more. The story is heartbreaking and all those years locked up in Broadmoor with dangerous psychopaths makes no sense. The psychiatrist reading the notes about their treatment and also saying how in the 2020s, they would’ve been more understood in with a better knowledge of neurodivergence. I hope this marks an exciting new chapter for June as she embarks on the next trimester - as she called it.

Compelling and humane to hear such a talked about story in the protagonist’s own words. The insight and value of subjectivity resonates, the producer clearly had a compassionate and special relationship with the speaker.

A shared identity, shared with a twin that Jennifer couldn't seem to recognize or see pass due to differences. Out of...Read full review »
