I’m confused. For sleep?

Taesha’s voice is so soothing, and I love the variety of stories. I almost always fall asleep part way through, but I often come back to relisten to stories because so many of them are lovely to hear. Absolutely one of my faves!

I was really looking forward to trying this out but the cadence of the narration and the pauses gave me actual anxiety. Only until I tuned it off . Unfortunately I found nothing comforting about it and so wish I had. It sounds as though the narrator is trying to hard to emphasize every word and...Read full review »

Taisha could read the business news and still take you to dreamland. But she actually leads interesting old classics, nothing to get too excited about but still interesting enough that even if you don’t get to sleep you will still have a relaxing and enjoyable time that will help you sleep later.

I almost always fall asleep, but even when I don’t, I sincerely enjoy the content and tone of the storytelling

Perfect lovely voice, enough to keep you interested, not boring and robotic, but soothing. Thank you so much for doing these!

Not to pile on but I can’t hear the person properly; they sound muffled. I really wanted to hear the story. Thanks for the effort.

My go-to podcast for a relaxing way to drift off to sleep. I especially loved The Little Mermaid and Sense and Sensibility series. The effort that goes into reading all of the varied stories this podcast has, is appreciated by me. If people don’t like her voice, just don’t listen, it’s not...Read full review »

…sweep you into the story. taesha is marvellously suited for this type of performance and i look forward to tuning in at every opportunity.

An important aspect of narrating a bedtime tale is to read slowly and clearly so as to encourage sleep. ( I should not have to strain to understand what is being said). The narrator of this episode spoke so quickly it was impossible for me to relax and calm my mind. Please speak more slowly. ...Read full review »

Taesha’s voice is comfortable, mellow and great for making a story (that could be seen as old and stuffy like A Conan-Doyle) sound new and interesting. But does calm your mind and take you to another place where you can relax to sleep.

I really enjoy listening to this podcast as I fall asleep. The podcaster has a soothing voice that is perfect to listen to. I use the free version that has ads at the beginning. The volume of the ads is louder than the podcast, which can be alarming when I’m in bed trying to sleep, but I just...Read full review »

Wonderful taste in literature! I also enjoy the host’s soothing voice. There are ads in the beginning but only the beginning. Really great sleep podcast 😴
Brownandbeautiful via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/10/24
I’m not sound engineer here but the ads are incredibly ‘loud’ as a proportion of the podcast volume. So stop making the podcast ‘quiet.’ Give them the same relative volume. Then I adjust the volume to get the right level and it’s all even. Yeah?

I can’t bear the monotone voice and the strange robotic way of he story is read.

I enjoy this podcast, and skip the ads in the beginning, like many others do. I find Taesha’s voice soothing, but as many others have posted, it’s just too fast to be relaxing. I adjust the speed to .75.

I found recently this podcast and listen to it when I find Nothing Much Happens is not quite distracting enough. I love Taesha’s soothing voice. Not sure who is reading me to sleep, but it’s called “JUST SLEEP”…so a loud putrid ad just as I’m about to doze off defeats the purpose. No thanks. 🥴
Slivjack via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/12/24
These have been a life saver for me. I listen to them every night. And have my favourites that I keep on ipod even when I try new ones. The only thing I can say is that some are read very fast. The ones that are read at a slower speed are much easier to fall asleep to.

Before I found this podcast, I used to spend ages trying to find one to listen to. It doesn’t have a description, isn’t too loud and is just perfect! 🫶

Very much enjoy the voice, reading style, and story selection. It really helps me wind down and fall asleep. Thank you for continuing to read these classics. Excited for the Virginia Woolf episode.

I love these stories and listen to them in the bath while winding down. I like the pace and readers voice. I always know the ads will come at the beginning as the host explains each episode. I was so excited when I heard her low, deep speaking voice. But then she was speaking so fast! I can’t turn my brain off to sleep if I’m constantly trying to keep up with what she’s saying. Please, just speak low, slowly and softly. Why is it so hard to find a sleep podcast that has this?
Sleepy knitter via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/17/23
Why is the narrator reading so fast?? Had to turn it off because it sounds like she’s reading on 1.25x speed. It’s so bizarre.
yeeunnie via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/13/23
The host has the most beautiful, relaxing voice, but I find she speaks a little too quickly. It ends up speeding my mind up rather than slowing it down. I will trying playing it at 0.75 x speed.

I have tried so many different storytelling sleep podcasts, and this is my favourite. The stories are interesting, which keeps me focused on them rather than other thoughts when trying to sleep. I do love this podcast and to hear all the old stories. The narrator has a lovely calm voice and perfect to go to sleep to 😴💕 I only wish that for the more shorter stories - such as animal farm, that the caster would go back to them every so often until the book is finished… I hope this is taken...Read full review »

The content is good but the reading is not at all relaxing. It should be much slower to help you fall asleep and possibly a softer voice would help.
montrealann via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/27/23
The ads that interrupt the podcast have abrupt loud percussion that literally woke me back up and startled me. Kind of defeats the purpose!
PonyFly via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/30/23
The stories are great, and her voice is soothing, but the ads are so LOUD that it destroys the effect. I find it really hard to calm down after a shouty ad. Please lower the volume!
KMCinGA via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/26/23
I listen 👂 to the podcast on my iPod touch. 1. The stories are long. 2. It’s soothing and relaxing 😌 3. The intro is very nice 👍
unicorn3567 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/06/23
Conceptually good, good content, but the halting way of speaking, to me, is over the top. It’s more suited to creepy stories than soothing sleepy ones. Having said that, I do listen and appreciate it for what it means to be.
