What makes a Podcast not a TV Show
Here's what I like about the podcast: --Longform format allows deeper penetration into subject matter. --Couric and co-host DO have biases. BUt they struggle with them and they challenge their own perceptions. Which allows their guests the opportunities to explain a different viewpoint in a very human way--a little tentative, a lot of humour. For example, Frank Lutz willingness to keep reminding Katie and Brian that "this is what Trump's supporters feel. This IS their truth," in the face of Brian and Katie's liberal outrage. All of this helped me understand the issues better. --There is an intimacy to podcasts that makes me feel like I know Katie, and her guests. Heck, I could call them up and say--you forgot to think about this! --Subject matte is timely, but I hope the podcasts continues ater the election. As a woman, I am eager to find voices like Katie's, woman who have found success and who can speak honestly to the price they may have paid, and the fulfillment they found. Her life has been multi-faceted and triumps and tragedies have given her outlook a richness that I value.Read full review »
