Informative and warm
The comments seem to be an even split between YouTube fangirls and disgruntled codgers - I thought I’d add this for variety. I think the podcast strikes a nice balance between the interviews, Mark’s criticism and the conversations. For me, along with the nostalgic mini-episodes, the live shows and interviews are the highlight - Mark seems to set people at ease and his enthusiasm is really palpable. In defence of Jack, though, there’s no necessity for both ‘critics’ to be industry experts. He’s obviously not as cine-literate as the good doctor, but I quite enjoy the avuncular dynamic of Mark educating a young protégée. I can forgive the occasional flash of overconfidence; it’s a tricky line to walk between deference and maintaining a presence in the room. I would imagine that a lot of the hate is from people who see themselves as more knowledgable and struggle to appreciate the appeal to a younger audience.

Content would be great but the overuse of the words ‘literally and ‘totally’ put me off. Got to the point that if I heard the word ‘like’ once more I would give up. So I did.
