They should keep the site open to catch people
Or create similar sites At minimum creating dummy sites that take the bitcoin but don’t result in killers waters down the field and makes it less reliable, thereby hurting the “business” of murder for hire using the dark web. At best with good follow through it catches these killers — the majority of which do seem to be men attacking women they used to be in relationships with, are in relationships with, or wish they were in relationships with. And we know so often those cases get no start before the murder or other attack happens, and even then rarely result in anything that helps the victim or further victims (given so often they literally never get the guy OR they do, but give him a slap on the wrist and before long he is out raping and killing more women). I think we have to be willing to actively screen for these people and get them before they do it. This is one way to screen.

Dud
Had high hopes when I started this series, but it turned out to be less compelling than it seemed in the description. A shame.
