This is one of the most engaging and well-produced podcasts I’ve listened to all year! The investigative journalist takes you on an epic journey full of unexpected twists and turns.

This podcast has the potential to be so interesting but it never quite hits the spot in any of the episodes. Feels like it skims past a lot of important points. I’m unsure of the main point they are trying to convey… dangers of the dark web? Personal struggles and troubles in relationships?...Read full review »

Shout out to the female journalist that pointed out that the perpetrator in this episode was not in fact spiraling out and that is a typical excuse for domestic violence. Also, I think you’ve done a lovely job at protecting victims while not making hard assumptions. Will def seek out more...Read full review »

Rating should be 5 stars! No clue how this pod has a 4.3 rating (at this moment anyway). I am a podcast fiend and thought I was *taking a chance* on this one—I usually don't listen to much under 4.5 and typically regret when I do. I was so wrong because Kill List is a fantastic podcast....Read full review »

If this story happened the way the narrator tells it, the Pence family are some of the most ignorant people I’ve ever heard of. As if taking children away from the parents and the only life they’ve ever known isn’t going to lead to emotional and behavioral problems. Absolute idiocy.
Simmar101 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/12/24
This podcast starts from an incredibly flimsy premise: the journalists “good friend” just happens, somehow, to hack into a dark web murder for hire website and access the site admins messages, showing a series of requests from people attempting to pay to have someone killed. (Why this friend was...Read full review »

This was a great listen and satisfying to learn how many arrests have been made as a result of the reporting. A lot of this seemed familiar however, and then I remembered that I had come across Eileen Ormsby writing at length about the Allwine case, Yura and the Besa Mafia fraud back in 2018. I...Read full review »

A few prior reviews hit the nail on the head! The host made this incredibly frustrating. He makes it about himself, he whines about calling people, and he talks unnecessarily too much. I kept listening because the story is interesting, but the host reallllly needs to work on his story telling...Read full review »

I think its a great concept and very addictuve but intrusive.

I’m enjoying this podcast. The host, Carmela, seems a bit naive sometimes (he seems to think that because the police aren’t keeping him in the loop, that they haven’t taken him seriously or aren’t doing their jobs) but the stories, the crimes that get intercepted because of his team uncovering...Read full review »

The rating said “clean” so I followed the show. I was enjoying it & found it interesting… but the host drops a lot of “F” bombs…

Probably my top 5 most favorite podcasts ever. Awesome storytelling and super juicy stories. Plus…the British accent. That always makes listening so bloody pleasant. :-)

Podcasts like this are why I became a Wondery plus subscriber. Truly amazing. I was really impressed at the team’s persistence. Go on the journey …. Well worth it

Very strong start and interesting topic, but host did a lot of pontificating and making the story about himself and the impact on him… should refocus and make it less about himself and more about the story / other people.

A great deal of hard work went into this podcast. I binged the whole thing in a day it was so good.

Lived this. Great narration and details!

Started well, soon tailed off as presenter seemed to loose interest.
Radionoush via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/06/24
The reporter insisted on making this about him, was whiny and plays the victim. Also over dramatic about lots of things.
Love_Fat_ via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/06/24
The premise of this is the exposé of a murder for hire scam website on the dark web and saving the real world victims from harm. An honourable premise which somehow feels tabloid grubby from the outset, the cold calling of potential victims (with only their best interest at heart of course) and...Read full review »

Decent reporting; however everything is always SO repetitive on Wondery. The host tries to bring a lightness to the narrative, but not sure this is the way to entice the listener (on this topic). I agree with “not worth it” and “meh”.
*reenanna* via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/05/24
It honestly sounds like I’m listening to a gcse exam paper, too much talk about nothing
morgo1645 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/05/24
Don’t give them a two because you think it’s boring. Don’t give them a two because you don’t like how they are putting them selves as the main character. Its literally the point.

I stumbled across this when I was looking for podcasts for a long road trip and I ripped through every episode - each one keeping me in the edge of my seat. The team behind this is incredibly impressive and you must listen!

Why does this journalist feel that it’s his responsibility to inform these people of this list…pretty sure that there is someone in actual law enforcement better equipped for it.

Amazing listen, loved it.
s2arlet via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/04/24
A fascinating story about domestic abuse and coercive control, somehow was confused into a self-absorbed meta narrative and self congratulating tone. The same story told through a victim focused lens would have been phenomenal.
gabyown via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/04/24
A brilliant real crime story about a murder for hire dark web site. Well done for doing this fantastic piece of investigative journalism. As scary as it is. It is absolutely gripping.

I will never understand why people with terrible speech impediments host podcasts. Awful!

Incredible podcast & story!
Kayla Morgan 💕 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/03/24
We get it- it was an ethical quandary but the story is not about the journalist. It should be about, you know, the actual potential victims. It also could have been a couple episodes shorter. Way too much stretching out.
Dallyan2424 via Apple Podcasts · Switzerland · 11/03/24
One of the best podcasts I’ve listened too. Absolutely crazy story. My jaw is literally dropped in every episode. Fabulous storytelling
JaniceH727 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/01/24
Kinda anticlimactic. Revealing the hits to people was interesting but it was only a few episodes. Also very annoying, whiny host.
homedoy via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/01/24
I am only up to episode 2 , however I do feel the British too polite & beating the bush communication way is not going to prepare you well for the cold call. And I don’t understand why assume the potential victims can understand English ? Or am I missing something? I will continue...Read full review »

Gripping idea of a story, and interesting attempt to capture a glimpse into such a rogue world we don’t get to see. Appreciate the digging and storytelling done there. I loved it at first, but then it got a little confusing as it went downhill. I thought the wondery + for the rest of the episodes was a bit unfair due to the tension

You are one of the few men who are a true ally to women. Now you see the truth of patriarchy and the truth about the nature of a certain subset of men- not all, no- but not a rare few either. Sadly, the statistics reflect this reality for women all over the world. It’s pathetic that so few others...Read full review »

Promising start but really started to drag/become boring for me. Maybe it’s my attention span, but just not finding myself reaching for this or caring about what happens next.

Am I evil… yes we are. Shows the lows and highs of humanity. Well done to the entire team! Thank you 🙏

My anxiety is through the roof with each episode but the best podcast I’ve listened to in years! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
GIllianL via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/29/24
The actual facts about the list and how people deal with the knowledge is fascinating and told well. The reporter making himself the center of the story and even talking like a victim is very annoying.
scottinthe503 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/29/24
The host focussed way too much on himself and his feelings. People’s lives are actually at risk to the point where they might die and he’s constantly talking about the toll it’s taking on his life as if he’s ran out of content. The story is gripping and you wish there’s more than could be done...Read full review »
