“I can usually find something to like about any knitting podcast, but this takes the best parts of all the others and combines it into one very easy to listen to and extremely enjoyable podcast. I was a little concerned (before I listened) that it would just be one long commercial for KnitPicks. It is definitely not that. Kelley does mention some of their yarns, but just because that is what she is using for her projects. (By the way, I love KnitPicks yarn and use it often, great quality and price.) There are a few episodes that focus on the company and I have found those to be fascinating, from what goes into making up the catalogs to developing the new yarn lines. Kelley's book reviews are awesome. Of course, she mainly talks about knitting books, but I have found myself on amazon many times after I have heard her mentioning non-knitting books as well. She has interviews with designers that are always entertaining. She has a way of getting people to fess up to their own knitting flubs that makes me feel a lot better when I am having to tink something (or frog it all together!). And Kelley admits her slip-ups as well. I was so glad that I was not the only person who did not get EZ's explanation of that circular cast-on the first (or third or fifteenth) time I read it. Kelley usually ends the podcast with a little catching up of her own current knitting projects. I really like that she is not into all the super trendy internet projects. She also started a knit-along for the Elizabeth Zimmermann book with a project for each month of the year, so if you are doing that then you know exactly what she's talking about. So there's all that PLUS tips and hints for making your knitting easier and more enjoyable AND inspiration AND confidence building!! Like I said...the BEST knitting related podcast!”Read full review »
