It's all good (and related)
I've been following Jim's work since reading the Geography of Nowhere (and all his other non-fiction books), attended his lectures, and his website, so this is an excellent companion format. My advice to new listeners is to consider the podcasts as a whole. While each episode is focused on a specific topic, they are all broadly related and you will see many recurring ideas (namely that planning, building, transportation, finance and energy policies are all intertwined, and cannot be considered or solved independently, and there is a lot of work to be done to correct them). It's something that is rarely articulated and often overlooked. You'll get that from his books, but it's impossible to fit into an episode. My only gripe with the KunstlerCast, the episodes aren't long enough. I know Duncan has abandoned the original 15 minute format, but they still end before I finish walking to work, and then I have to wait a week for a new episode.Read full review »

More reviews of KunstlerCast
Jim Kunstler has given me more food for thought than any philosopher in a long time. Well worth your time.

The KunstlerCast is frank and witty, critical and idealistic at the same time. Each week James Howard Kunstler offers his thoughts on a...Read full review »
