Hosted by one of Australia’s most endearing and intelligent commentators
Philip Adams is unashamedly atheist and very much firmly ensconced on the left side of politics. So he is bound to infuriate those equally ensconced in the opposite camps of politics and belief. However for an agnostic, swing voter like myself, he represents a most rare and precious reminder of the potential of the mass media to inform and challenge rather than simply reinforce prejudice and and preexisting belief. When one compares the shrill but disingenuous moral indignation of the parrots of talkback radio, Mr Adams is clearly operating in a much higher league thereby reminding us of how much potential radio programs of this nature really have. With his calm but cynical tone, his superb wit, eloquence and sense of humour, it is hard not to enjoy and relish this wonderful “ little wireless program” of Mr Adams. He regularly has some excellent guests however ultimately it is Mr Adams to whom I find myself drawn. Wherever one sits on the political spectrum few would deny that Philip Adams is a now one of Australia’s most perceptive and experienced journalists. His apparently sincere concerns for social justice, and his willingness to consider new facts and ideas contrasts with the dogmatic sophistry of the shock jocks of mostly conservative talkback radio. However it is worth reminding onself that he does not have a monopoly on common sense and his rigid view on God and politics should be regarded with some circumspection

PA is an inspiration; in his 80s and still an interviewing force. Been listening to this for nearly 30 years and still love it. Thanks Phillip and LNL.
