“So, we're living in dark times, and these days I'm a big fan of anyone who can make me laugh. Matt and Aviv manage to do that consistently. The gallows humor in this podcast suits both the subject matter and my general mood all the time these days, and they manage to do it without being exceptionally problematic, which is actually a pretty big accomplishment given the fact that these are two dudes mocking a show that deals with rape and sex crimes. Good job, Matt and Aviv! Never change.
Yeah, this may not be the most organized and deeply researched podcast in existence. But they're thorough, fun, and I enjoy the tangents they go on as much as I enjoy the discussion of the show. Who doesn't want to hear more about the Tommy Westphall universe? Besides, good freaking luck finding anyone else going over all the SVU episodes in order from the beginning. I couldn't find anyone else doing it, probably because it might be a lifetime commitment considering how long the show has been going on. Here's hoping that Matt and Aviv are completionists.
If I were going to complain about anything, it would be the length of time between episodes... they say it's weekly, but it's really more like every two or three weeks. On the other hand, there are no ads or requests for Patreon donations, so I have to assume they're doing this for fun and have real lives to deal with in-between recordings. I can't really complain about that. And hey, this is free. I'd probably be willing to throw a few bucks a month at a Patreon account for more frequent episodes, but I shouldn't because I can't really afford to, so probably just keep doing what you're doing, guys.”Read full review »
