An excellent resource for students of Japanese language and culture
The team at JapanesePod101 makes learning the Japanese language convenient, easy, and fun. Each lesson is about 10-13 minutes long, which makes it very convenient to listen to while driving, working out, waiting in line etc. The lessons are well organized and structured, and each one introduces new concepts while building upon the previous lessons. Before you realize it, you'll be having conversations in Japanese. Because they introduce just a few new words in each lesson, you never feel overwhelmed. Each new word is presented several times by native Japanese speakers, both at regular conversational speed and broken down by syllables. Peter, Sakura and the rest of the crew are very enthusiastic about teaching Japanese language and culture, and it shows in their lessons They really make you feel at ease when learning. You don't feel like you're in a classroom, it's more like you're having a private tutoring lesson from a Japanese friend. If you are serious about studying Japanese, you need to subscribe to this podcast. This should be required for anyone taking Japanese language classes.Read full review »

I always used the PDFs to supplement the listening. It is a great way to learn fast. Reading along while listening is also a great way to improve your pronunciation.
