metcha omoroi!
Since when are lame British accents and Bond impersonations a substitute for Japanese study? And is Alex and his friends getting drunk on the podcast supposed to be some cutting edge technique to improve our retention of new vocabulary? After listening to this podcast I can only speak Japanese relating to drinking, yelling at people, drinking, making fun of people, drinking, and sound effects accompanying falling down stairs. Where are all those lessons about homework, hobbies, and all those other things that fill the volumes of Minna no Nihongo? If you want to learn Japanese, go to an izakaya and ask for mugi shochu rocku de; if you can't do this, listen to japanesepod 101, but if you want to sound like a half drunk Osakan, then this is the gravy!Read full review »

Really like how they go through one main dialogue but also kinda chat in simple Japanese too. Really easy to listen to and I like the informality. Please keep making episodes! :)

I have been learning Japanese with various apps for about a year, this podcast is a great addition for putting together a conversation you might actually have and hearing more informal phrases that don’t crop up elsewhere
