Art V Science: early 20th century education
Please hold with the simplistic and ill informed extrapolations and generalisations. You’re sounding like tabloid journalists. Turing may well have had an eccentric music / arts teacher who joked about maths. Who didn’t ! But to conclude from that Science was not valued is ridiculous. The UK educated many truly great scientists in these years who came to prominence in the 1940’s and 50’s.

Loving this pod. A balanced look at historical figures which is not afraid to ask the awkward questions about ‘heroes’ ‘stars’ or ‘role models’ Afua and Peter are a great team. The one on Cecil Rhodes was particularly eye opening.
