“Very good podcast, well produced and dramatised. The only fly in the ointment is how opinionated one of the presenters (Afua Hirsch) was. Someone should have reminded her that this podcast was about Margaret Thatcher’s legacy, not her views on the consequences of Margaret Thatcher’s policies.
Throughout the podcasts she came across as a very angry person who was determined to make her protests loud and clear at every possible (or impossible) opportunity. It cannot be that Margaret Thatcher did absolutely nothing non-destructive let alone right! It is also ludicrous to claim, as she effectively does, that Britain now is a worse place than before Margaret Thatcher directly because of her. Someone old enough should tell her how horrible things were then. There are pros and cons to thatcherism and the listeners would benefit from a balanced approach. I felt the co presenter was a lot more balanced.
On the more positive side, I felt that Afua comes across as very eloquent, intelligent and capable person who can be a top top podcaster if only she could add a touch of objectivity or tone down her subjectivity.”
