I enjoyed this discussion/debate. As someone who grew up in London during late 70s and 80s, Thatcher was such a domineering and enigmatic character who really did change the country towards free market capitalism, for better and for worse. Far from being cowed, almost all Londoners were not scared, didn’t change their behaviour at all and went about their lives as usual. There was no recognition that the IRA London bombings had been going on well before Thatcher came to power - one might have believed from this series that she was the architect of it. But she did stand up to intimidation from all directions and that was something that most Brits admired, even if her policies often divided.
