A really cracking series on the sports greatest contest in my opinion bar none! I remember being in the 6th Form watching the Ball of the Century totally mesmerising…..we all thought Gat had trod on his stumps……feel privileged to have gone on to watch Shane Warne over the years and realised just...Read full review »

A tremendous account of this unique and inimitable battle between the empire and one of its colonies. Stephen Fry has created an account much like his masterful retelling of the Greek Myths. Centre stage, the colourful Shane Warne who was always entertaining along with English heroes, Ian Botham...Read full review »

Great to hear all the stories about the greatest test series there is The Ashes

Having seen every Test v Australia since 1972, I predicted that the UK media would focus on Botham 1981, Warne 1993, and various during the last 23 years including the usual obsession with 2005, they didn’t let me down, therefore I only listened to Ep.2, 3, 4, 5 and 9. This is brilliant. I honestly could listen to Stephen Fry narrate a phone book. Particularly enjoyed the bodyline ones as I wasn’t around for those.

As both a cricket, and history, fan this podcast is a must listen. Even if you’re a fan of neither this is still a collection of fascinating human stories. Addictive.

A must-listen for any cricket fan! Superb stories, brilliantly told. And Stephen Fry. Marvellous effort, that :)

Same old stories that have been told and re told on other podcasts. The computer game dubbed action links are irritating, obviously couldn’t afford to pay for the tv/radio footage.
