Been listening since I was in 5th grade and it’s been getting better and better..some episodes I don’t agree with but that doesn’t matter cause it’s a well made show and it’s been in my life for 3 years now and I love it.

Very informative and exciting. It’s refreshing to here stories that don’t all lead to why one political party is so much worse than the other.

This is one of the greatest podcasts on iTunes. Chris Wimmer is an outstanding narrator and storyteller. The pacing is engaging and easy to follow and does a great job linking persons and events from other seasons. I’ve particularly enjoyed listening to it on road trips through the American West,...Read full review »

Because of the seasons, this show is able to go into a lot of depth on various topics. I’m loving the season on the Nez Perce.

These are great. I have a hard time just sitting still but when I found these, it catches my attention and I can learn, be entertained and reduce the endless scrolling.

Not so much detail that you get bored, but enough to keep you engaged and the episodes grab your attention

Brilliant podcast. Indeed advertising absolutely rammed down your throat. In fact I got so fed up with it, I’ve made my company stop using it. Stopped using indeed and saved £30k a year in promoted jobs. Love the podcast though.

I love the podcast and have a recommendation for the series about Dodge City: check out the 1950’s radio series called Gunsmoke. Gunsmoke was based in Dodge City. The radio series is not the same as the popular TV show, in fact, the radio series is better in my opinion. Different actors, more...Read full review »

I've been listening to Legends since the first episode. Of the 20+ other podcasts I follow, Legends, and its sister show are, by far, the best! Being from Texas, I have heard, or read, about many of the stories. But, I am always amazed by the facts and details in the episodes. Some I had...Read full review »

Love the podcast... One of my favorite podcasts I listen too drive to and from work. Well researched and very well presented. I’m an old west buff and when I thought I heard it all… I hear things I never knew before… excellent!

My son shared this podcast with me this year. In January I drove out to Wyoming from Atlanta and listened to the podcast on my way starting at season 1. I have enjoyed every episode but I have to say, the story of Stagecoach Mary warmed my heart so it’s my favorite so far. Stories like Texas...Read full review »

After reading Pat Garrett's book, watching several movies and documentaries, I found this series to be just as if not more informative. It's hard not to take a liking to Billy as he seemed to be an opportunist making the most of what he could. Not condoningany murders but it didn't...Read full review »

While occasionally fascinating, this series focuses far too much on the ‘white’ history of the West, and it’s so called heroes. This series is at its best when telling the stories of the true Americans and the land they had stolen from beneath them. Series 4 is a particular highlight and deserves...Read full review »

You can’t beat “Legends of the Old West” for careful research, solid writing and excellent narration. I’ve listened to every season and I’m on my second listen. It’s never gimmicky and never dry - just great, well-presented history. There are no other western podcasts that even begin to compare...Read full review »

The end of season 28 episode 6 was very moving. The lasting legacy of the virtually unknown Texas Jack had me slack jawed. You did a great job finishing that series the way you did. Bravo Zulu

I have binged both infamous America and this podcast. Chris is a fantastic narrator, no non sense no random opinions, and just a touch of humor. PLEASE PLEASE keep making these episodes. Good luck on your book! P.S. I was thinking maybe an episode or two PLACES of the Wild West. Maybe...Read full review »

Can’t recommend this enough. Such great storytelling & production. I’ve been listening with my Dad who has lost his eyesight & independence after a stroke . Wimmer’s depiction of historical characters brings them to life. His podcast not only tells you the “what,” but also the “why.” He’s on par with the passion of Daniele Bolelli, but focuses on the history of the old west. It’s a must listen podcast.

This is the BEST history podcast I’ve listened to for many reasons. #1. Chris Wimmer has a voice you can listen to for hours. This is my first listen with the four part series. You just dropped on the Donners… I’d always heard that name, but never knew the story. The audio volume is not consistent and commercials are much louder then the show. Not a good podcast to fall asleep to as you will wake up with advertisements for fry’s grocery store screaming in your ear. Too many commercials
