Terrible Presenting Tone and Content!
I had high hopes for the topic which couldn’t be more interesting, but my hopes were that I would get to hear some actual investigative journalism. I began to listen and the podcast opened with the hosts bigging up each others CV’s (note to the producers- this does not work to gain credibility, but has the opposite effect), then waffled on in a poorly read script that offered absolutely no depth and no information that hasn’t been on the front page. By this point I was worried. Add to this the slightly gleeful tone of the presenters, without any gravitas, sounding like a bad episode of 60 minutes (oh wait I know why that is- refer to CV’s at commencement of episode) Has no one who works on this podcast listened to Hedley Thomas? I now expect no actual investigative journalism will occurs but a rehashing of already available information in a cheap attempt to have a smash hit podcast, while making as little actual effort (and cost) as possible. And patronising the audience of course because we won’t notice… as long as we are dazzled enough the initial CV speech and the famous nature of the crime that we don’t notice the topic wasn’t taken seriously.

More reviews of Liar, Liar
Sadly, like many podcasts, Tom and Kate’s meanderings around Melissa’s story is frustrating to listen to. Why not just a linear narrative without the cringe worthy bios of both presenters? It’s a great story but it needed a sub-editor with a splicing block and splicing tape to edit out the verbiage.

This is such fluff, peppered with ads. No substance

Most of this anticipated first episode talking about what’s coming up in future episodes. Clearly padding a story that’s a bit thin on facts.
