“Despite the fantastic cadre of narrators, Lightspeed needs to connect with more fans online and fewer in Brooklyn. Angst-ridden, esoteric, and more-and-more often sanctimonious, the stories selected are infrequently fun, seldom funny, and rarely pass as SF by more than the barest margins. 'I'm on a spaceship, sigh, I'll remember how life was in 2014...' is a not infrequent theme in one guise or another.
All that said, these folks are doing immaculate work in an income-free art form with all the authors who'll consent to have their material used. So, they deserve a few blades of hay taken off their camels.
But please, enough with the stark, grey, sermonizing stories. I don't need ray guns and aliens, but surely we can strike more of a balance, no?

“The first five stories from this podcast have been good, with excellent narration and production. If they can keep up this level of quality, then this should be a great podcast.
