“This podcast is wonderful. It’s approachable for any layman and informative for any one interested in linguistics (or someone that does not yet know she is interested in linguistics).
This podcast is warm, lighthearted and fun, I’ve come to it many times when I’m feeling sour or down and it’s lifted me up. I find myself laughing with Gretchen and Lauren, and smiling ear to ear as I dive into a shared human experience through language.
I’ve learned so much about linguistics from these two intelligent ladies. They cover a wide range of topics and dive just deep enough so you get a well-rounded understanding, and they do this in such a way that most people will understand. It’s brilliant.
I suggest this podcast to many people, and it’s so great, it is one of the few podcasts I support as a patron via patreon. I’ve even purchased some of their wonderful merchandise, my favorite is a shirt that reads “I want to be like the English Schwa
