Loses all credibility
Since Books on the Nightstand is going on hiatus, I ran across Literary Disco in my efforts to find another podcast. My first listen was the episode on Octavia Butler. The first sign that this podcast was not for me was when Rider said that he had never heard of Butler. While I am no fan of the science fiction genre, I am a READER, and wonder how you cannot have heard of the most famous, award-winning, woman-of-color-ground-breaker in the genre? To not even know the name means that you probably don't need to be on a literary podcast, because your opinions suddenly do not matter on anything remotely resembling the written word. These folks are very well read. Rider is very smart without being in your face about it. You can tell these people love books, and love to talk about them. This is my favorite podcast.
