I also talked about Nico Hischier and Sheldon Keefe expressing their frustrations after the New Jersey Devils' 6-5 loss to the Washington Capitals.

The New Jersey Devils spoiled the Washington Capitals' season opener by defeating them 5-3 at Capital One Arena. The Devils' third line (Paul Cotter, Erik Haula, and Stefan Noesen) combined for eight points. It wasn't just them, other key depth assets also had strong performances. This was a great response after losing to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.

The New Jersey Devils dropped their home opener to the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2. The Leafs' bottom-six players dominated the Devils in the first period. It wasn't a good outing compared to their trip to Prague, but there's nothing to be concerned about. I spoke with some players from the Leafs (including alternate captain John Tavares) postgame to discuss what their strategy was entering the matchup.

The New Jersey Devils dropped their more recent game to the New York Islanders 5-1. They're still winless during preseason. It doesn't help that their main NHL players are currently en route to Prague to open up the regular season on October 4th. It hasn't been pretty, but there's no need to be concerned. On the bright side, Seamus Casey is joining the team in Prague.

The New Jersey Devils still can't escape the injury bug from last year. It's been revealed that Luke Hughes sustained a left shoulder injury and will miss 6-8 weeks.
