Radio as art
Love+Radio is radio as art. I get the feeling Nick likes to make people squirm. His stories tend to take on deep and complex moral grey areas - a woman blackmailing pedophiles in "Jack and Ellen" being one that I never forget. There's also an intense honesty to it all. He challenges his subjects and when they push back, that goes in there too. The production really brings it to another level. You have to listen to a few episodes to really understand, but sound is used in a very thoughtful and deliberate way. I always look forward to new episodes and am never disappointed.Read full review »

I am so hooked. It has been so professionally produced and sounds like a big production movie in your ears - but in reality it is just awesome journalism with a creative edge.

Nick van der Kolk is an audio genius, and the show often has me laughing out loud as i walk the dog. One problem; not enough shows even if each one is a gem.
