“Ed is right. People switching to Mac is the trend.
At work, if budget is not a problem, colleagues prefer Mac.
I switched to MBP fall last year. Recommended to my boss and she is so happy now on MacBook Air. Mainly doing presentation. It's so convenient she sees the same others produced for her. In the past, color is not right when displaying on PC.
The Spacebar quicklook is so convenient especially when scanning through large volume of pictures/files.
I like the trackpad multitouch guesture the most i don't need a mouse anymore.
Mac user interface is better such as the keys arrangement. The Ctrl-C is badly arranged you have to use little finger with index finger. On Mac, Cmd-C is thumb+index finger...so comfy and intuitive. These are just some of so many improvement switched to Mac.
The only drawback is Excel. It runs quicker on PC than on Mac doing the same task. it's still ok since I stopped doing massive data crunching and programming. now focusing on design, I just keep a PC for serious Excel task just in case.
At home, Mac plus iPad, I seldom switch on my wife's PC this year and gave my PC to nephew. Two to three times a month I think. Mainly for sync~ing my wife's iPhone.
Mac is expensive compare to PC with the same hardware spec we all know that. But we got a total package what we pay for. A package with not so good hardware plus better user experience. Just hope John.ive can keep up the tradition when he taking over UI design role and can give a lifting and consistency through out the product line...
Look forward for ga ga's joining the Mac fleet.”Read full review »
