This show is amazing! I am so happy that it is a mostly feminine cast as I get really sick of all the male dominated horror fiction out there. Very well written! But you left us on a cliff hanger! Come back to us with the next season!

Started out very good! But by episode 14 I felt like I was losing the thread and I didn’t care. Read someone else stopped at episode 22 so figured it’s not worth the slog. Pacing is very important.

The premise of the story being told is interesting, but it moves way too slow and seems to drag at times. I find myself losing interest and not caring what happens to the characters.
MormonmanBob via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/28/22
A great premise, but the episodes get weaker as you go, which makes me think the creators were creating the story as they went instead of starting with the end in mind. In other words, good idea, poor execution.

Thank you and thank you for a story and a clever approach that presumes we have at least a fair degree of intelligence. Just discovered Mabel and am very impressed and pleased. Going to feel it out a bit more before I commit by Patreon (have made that mistake before) but so far really good.

Made the mistake of listening to the first episode on the anniversary of my grandma’s death so that was kind of a bummer would not recommend you do that probably great any other day of the year I’ll probably try it again later but right now it’s just a real bummer

Like many I found this one well written and acted but intentionally opaque and slow. With a little editing it could be great… it seems plot development was not a priority…

I loove mable so much! this podcast feels like it was made just for me lol. it might be one of the most beautiful and well written horror/romance stories i’ve ever heard. every episode is absolutely beautiful. it reminds me a lot of the magical realism and surreal nature of fariy tales and myths,...Read full review »

I don't even know where the recommendation came from, someone threw it out in a conversation and I was just wrapping up what's out of The Far Meridian & thought I'd try this. SO GLAD! This is...lush and unnerving and so, so engaging. I have theories...all of which are likely...Read full review »

This is a show I can finish and immediately return to episode one of. Yes that’s partially because I’m so confused that I learn more and discover more each time, but it’s also the atmosphere, the goosebumps, the absolute humanity of it all. This podcast is a companion to me and I love it for that.

I loved the first season, but I’m starting to think the plot won’t be moving forward anytime soon - kind of hard to follow and the best way to describe it is that there’s nothing for me to hold on to. It’s becoming harder and harder to pay attention. All that said, the first handful of...Read full review »

Starts strong, then goes downhill fast. I listen to a TON of fiction podcasts, and this is one that I finally did myself a favor and stopped listening around episode 15.

So far, I’ve felt curious and concerned, spooked and creeped. I’ve felt delight and wonder and oh, gosh episode 8.5 is gorgeous and made me weep. This podcast is a wonder and a puzzle. Love love love it!

I LOVE Mabel. currently relistening and it fills me with such terror. the foreshadowing is excellent, and the characters have really grown since the first season. 💕💕 Also: join the Patreon if you can. the puzzle boxes are fun and there’s letters from juniper part 2...

Will update once I’m finished but once it gets to episode 14, and especially 16 that I listened to, I have no idea what’s going on. I didn’t know what really was going on before but at least could create imagery in my mind as to what Anna was doing and where she was, and I was so enthralled I...Read full review »

Beautiful, incredible, fantastic, this podcast is fantastic, LISTEN TO IT— it is, at its heart, about two lovers, but also about every other sacred thing. It’s so good. I love it more than words could describe.

The voice acting is atrocious. The writing makes zero sense. One of the worst podcasts I’ve listened to in a while. Not sure why it’s so recommended.

So I’m nearing the end of the Podcast and I’m wishing I gave up on it after Season 1. Season 1 was interesting and was excited to see where it goes. The. season 2 went no where. This is a small jewel. Mostly it’s a one-actor show with a really haunting, original script. It’s not goofy or silly, no action hero figures, just a spooky other-worldly mystery, and a meditation on female friendship. Love the acting. Thank you for this podcast!

I keep thinking this is going to devolve into something I won’t enjoy, or that the story will lose me, but I’ve been hooked from the beginning, and the sound design, excellent writing, and whole original concept of telling a story through voicemail is incredible. Can’t wait to keep going :)

I’m only on episode three so far, but I’m hooked. It’s suspenseful without being scary. I was really here for the queer representation as I go into most podcasts. Other podcasts, specifically the penumbra, have me staying for the stories, and characters though that was not the case for this one. I really was hopeful with this podcast. It lost me. I have no idea what is going on (I stopped at ep. 18). The plot doesn’t go anywhere. The narrator (“Ana”) needed a better actress. Honestly I just got frustrated with it so decided to find a different podcast. Not for everyone I guess.

This literally is the best podcast. Fans of the superb “Gone,” as well as “The Far Meridian,” “Palimpsest,” “Mirrors,” “Earth Break,” “Vast Horizon,” and “Spines,” would do well to check this out. I stopped listening around episode 20, I may come back to it. As the podcast progresses it becomes more difficult to follow. There is a level of incoherence here that just got to much. I gave up in season 2. I get the impression that this podcast is a number of great ideas which have not been fully formed cobbled together.

So, the first 10ish episodes were really well done but I slowly started to lose interest as it went on. I finally gave up after episode 17. Story was too hard to follow at that point, and I was kinda done with the beeping and static and pounding and screaming.
