Liz Gilbert personifies "When the student is ready, the teacher appears" in my life …
Quick background: Read "Big Magic." Loved it. Bought four copies for Christmas gifts for young people in my life who should know this stuff sooner rather than later. Listened to Season One of the podcast. Loved it. Now back for Season Two. And trite as it may be to write, the most important thing this podcast supplies for me is the relief of "Oh, I'm not alone! Other people feel this way, too!" The stories are personal but the struggles are universal. I marvel, though, that I happen to listen to episodes at times when I *really need the lessons therein. Also, LIz has the best voice for podcasting. And the writer in me adores her facility with language. She combines words in a way that make me say, "Ooh, that was good." And lastly, I love this season's format, of having each story self-contained: conversation with artist, conversation with expert, follow-up conversation with artist. I am an impatient person. I like the instant gratification. Thank you, Liz, as ever. You're a gem.Read full review »
