“Hey Steve. You’re ridiculously smart. We already know that. I admire you like very few other people in this world.
We don’t listen just for your thoughts though. You already hold incredible sway in being the interviewer. Please interrupt your guests less. They are the experts; you are the host.
At your best you challenge and bring out the best in your guests. At your worst you are domineering and arrogant — unwilling to entertain perspectives other than your own, and assuming that your next point has already anticipated everything your guest has to say.
I will keep listening regardless, as you are nonetheless one of the most rigorous and high quality sources of information around, but this was getting on my nerves, and I’d wager most of your listeners would agree.
