“Mark is a good speaker and preaches a great conservative Christian message, he's engaging and keeps a listener interested - however after a while his arrogant style and lack of a loving attitude really grates on you ... after looking forward to listening each week I've turned it off (Ortberg's Menlo park sermons are a similar simple Christian message but less offensive and although Driscoll seems to - unfairly - dislike Rob Bell of Mars Hill from Michigan, I find Bell's messages more engaging and thought provolking ... for a new believer who will not be offended Driscoll treads the straight and narrow and delivers a good message, for a firm follower Rob Bell is more challenging). ... to the commenter who didn't like him because he talks about his family and his hobbies etc, I think that's all right, contextualizing a message to this 2008 north american world helps translate the gospel message to the world we can comprehend.”Read full review »
