Genres be damned!
Love this idea. Marlon James changed the genres I read after reading Black Leopard Red Wolf. He recommended N.K. Jemisin’s Broken Earth Trilogy (loved it). And with the “no genre is off limits” idea, I discovered Attica Locke (also loved). So I especially enjoy it when Marlon James recommends titles and calls authors snobs. So good. Small suggestion: Maybe could you adjust the sound? I hear Jake louder than Marlon when listening. P.S. If you diss on Virginia Woolf, I’m finished listening.

Like being in a marvelous book club, this podcast gives you lots to think about and great ideas about writers or books you might never have tried. I enjoy the banter and the wit and look forward to hearing many more episodes.

Perfect in every way. Marlon’s discussion about his how he teaches lit and Jakes witty editor attitude makes this the best book podcast I’ve listened to.
