Good content, but bad sound
I feel like Hoffman wants this to be a breakout podcast and he's put some resources in and pulled some strings to try to make it so. The interview and analysis are pretty cool, but the poor sound quality is really distracting. It's not just the quality of the audio they recorded from the interview with Brian either (though that is definitely the worst part). The transitions and sound affects are awkward. I'd like to think the sound engineers are talented beginners who will rapidly get better, but I worry that they could be 2nd rate veterans and that won't. Why not partner with some of masters of the craft like Gimlet, Serial, or poach someone from NPR or something?

I think Reid is good but I think starting the show off with a repeat of a HIBT was a real drag. I hope they get more interesting guests that aren't already common podcast knowledgeRead full review »

The host keeps giving you footnotes and context. He doesn't give allow the listener time to process and synthesize. If the host allowed the guest to elaborate and he follows up; the listener would have better insight into the topic.Read full review »
