Masters of creativity in great conversations
Grant Gibson has clearly hit on something special: The first season of Material Matters is full of enjoyable tale-telling, human warmth and insiration from some of the UK's leading craft practitioners; alongside a bonus conversation with US academic Glenn Adamson who gifts a contrasting voice and insights on the principals, meaning and practice of craft. Gibson has a easy, familiar style which has makes his podcast debut a really outstanding series of interviews / podcasts; teasing out anicdotes and humour along the way with his subjects coming to life in ways I suspect they're not often used to. As the former editor of Crafts he knows what he is talking about - and who he is talking to. He has obviously invested in the practitioners and knows for each that their material really does matter. Highly recommeded listing for anyone interesting in makers, their passions, inspirations and their often intreauging routes to being masters of their crafts.Read full review »
