Best book I have ever read. I am surprised that people dislike it and I also find it irritating that people would compare it to other pieces of work.

The story is so descriptive that it really captures you. The details describing every idea the author introduces are intricate and thoughtful providing a very powerful story. Might be an ok story if you're in to obvious rip-offs of stories like Harry Potter, The Golden Compass, etc. Unfortunately I'll never know, couldn't get past the terrible reading (most characters sound like 1980's wrestlers) and horrible, pervasive score.
