Bad books, cooked to perfection
If I remember right, I was first pointed to this podcast when Tomefoolery went on indefinite hiatus. It’s got the same “comedians bantering over awful books” energy I needed to keep in my life, but this show’s remit of only going after New York Times bestsellers means they don’t get quite as many weird/awful ones (which can be a plus and a minus; the Turner Diaries wouldn’t work for this one, but I feel like Mean Book Club takes on A Viking Vampire Angel Motorcycle Christmas or whatever it was* would be a lot of fun). Still, good-length episodes that don’t drag, and I felt particularly seen by the recent apology for not having loved every straight man’s favorite submarine user manual.** * Christmas in Transylvania (A Deadly Angels Novella), by Sandra Hill **The Hunt for Red October, by Tom Clancy (the movie was better)

This podcast is hilarious. Every time I listen, I feel like I’m hanging out with my friends. I crack up every single time I listen. My favorite has to be Sabrina, because she always sticks up for the books I like 😂. I highly recommend this podcast to anybody who loves a good cast of characters.
