“I've followed Andy (Gosforth Handyman) and Peter (10 Minute Workshop) on YouTube for years and then recently stumbled on the Podcast. Maybe it's senendipity, but I've always been into DIY and woodwork and had a career in IT (same as Andy's background) and when the contracts dry up I revert to doing jobs for customers.
Finding a number of the podcasts on starting up, pricing jobs and marketing these guys have bostered my confidence in leaving the tech work behind and doing this full time. Last week saw me delivering leaflets while listening to seasons one and two of Measuring Up. The phone started ringing and I was on a job by Wednesday. The next three are lined up and "touch wood" things will continue to grow positively.
