May listener reporting in, back from the dead
This review was already LONG overdue, but once they started calling out specific months it became a bit to wait until they got to May. So now I'm here after resurrecting and unlocking my Apple account and redownloading iTunes for the first time in nearly a decade to say that this show is incredible. I originally watched the 2011 Hunter x Hunter anime many years ago, and more recently I read the manga in lieu of rewatching the series to reexperience the story and characters in a new way, so I was already deeply a fan of this world before starting this podcast, yet the excellent hosts continue to dissect story beats and creative choices that completely passed me by or didn't strike me as hard while going through the full series all at once. This podcast has strengthened my already profuse enjoyment of this series, though that's really no surprise for the fine folks from Friends at the Table. P.S. if you're a listener of this podcast and haven't also listened to Friends at the Table, you should get on that. Consider this a 5 star review for that podcast, too.Read full review »

I’m usually too scatterbrained to finish shows, but pods like this keep me committed and make the experience so much more fun! Really excited for more

Hunter x Hunter is a great show, and the hosts do a great job of highlighting what makes it work. As a newcomer to Shonen I appreciate having a fellow newbie on the podcast because it means that they get into discussions of the Shonen tropes that HxH is exploring.
