“I have the privilege of hearing Rabbi David teach each Shabbat, and it is all the more impacting and empowering in the context of the services. The infusion of joy and life, and the freedom to approach Adonai in honesty characterizes the music, liturgy, dancing, Torah reading, and teaching. Putting Rabbi David's teachings into practice in this community has launched me forward in my marriage, my work, and living a repentant life. It's interesting to me, the nature of the negativity towards Rabbi David's teachings and this podcast expressed in many of the reviews. After reading through all of them, I felt compelled, not to initiate any debate or instigate controversy, but to simply introduce our synagogue for what it is, who we are, and why we keep broadcasting podcasts about Yeshua around the world. The concerns expressed in many reviews are that we are attempting to be covert, sly and deceitful. I would like to be completely transparent so that concern can be laid to rest. I know many won’t read even this far, but for the many who are genuinely interested in what drives our podcast and what it is about, and want to write informed reviews, I hope this to be a useful resource. I, congregants of our synagogue, and many other listeners of this podcast love and serve the God of Israel. We seek only to be genuine in our faith by sharing our belief in Yeshua as Messiah to all the world with our Jewish friends and family. If we profess to love and serve Yeshua, and He commanded us then to tell others about Him, how can we do otherwise? How can we profess to love God, if we ignore the heart He has eternally for His chosen people, the Jews? Rather, it is toward those who profess to follow Yeshua yet adhere to the silent agreement between Jew and non-Jew to cordially avoid the topic of Him—it is toward these your anger should be directed, for a simple reason: what if? What if Yeshua really is the Messiah, and those who claimed to be a friend to you never took the risk to tell you what they held to be true? Lightly now the name "Nazi" is used, as in one of the reviews, to label people with differing beliefs...I wonder, has this person ever cared for a survivor of the Holocaust and heard their accounts? I have, in many countries of Europe and the former Soviet Union…before I was twenty-two years old. How ironic, that while true Nazi organizations are now rising, like the Hungarian Guard in Hungary, we who love and live to serve our Jewish people are so malevolently accused to be among their enemies. However, we are not surprised by this, nor are we made hesitant; Yeshua told us we would experience this—because He first is rejected, we then are rejected also. It is absolutely true, as stated in another review: a Jew is a Jew is a Jew. It is also true that while many who enjoy Rabbi David's teachings are Jews, I am not one—but, make no mistake, when I say "our Jewish people," that is what I mean. I have committed my heart to you; already years of study and work have been devoted to your benevolence. Though I risk being cast among your enemies, even there I will still stand for you; I will still live and die for your sake. Long ago a Jew did the same for me while I was among those who despised Him. To all those who desire to post negative remarks, warnings, and even messages of hate in your reviews of our podcast, we make no effort stop or discourage you. It neither discourages or hinders us…but it does present a conundrum for your cause; it alludes to a fear that those who hear will hear and believe. In addition, it’s excellent advertising; people want to know what it is they are told they shouldn’t hear. All ribbing aside, lay aside also any fears you may have. We do not endeavor to exploit the unlearned; rather we encourage all to learn and confirm for themselves what they believe to be true. Any person, Jew or non-Jew, can never claim to have honestly sought the heart of God and truly desired the coming of His Messiah until they have prayed the prayer Rabbi David once did: "God, if Yeshua really is the Messiah, please show Him to me; and if He isn't, forgive me for asking."”Read full review »
