“Dear Christina and Jaime-
I was diagnosed with MS in 1996. I have gone from symptoms that were barely noticeable to needing a wheelchair and a full time caregiver.
I am mostly confined to my home and rarely get out to do anything thing “fun”. To others, I maintain a positive attitude, but as you know, that is hard to do when you have MS. It is tiring to constantly be putting on a brave face and not come across as a complainer. To quote the late great Erma Bombeck, my attitude has always been “If you can’t make it better, laugh at it”.
Your podcast has brought me a different perspective in dealing with this mess. I look forward to listening every week. You’ve shown me that it is OK to get angry at my MS and to hold it accountable when things go wrong. Both of you have shared your personal journey and I feel like we are kindred spirits. You make me feel like I am right there with you and that any emotion is allowed. You help me release all of those feelings that I can’t quite articulate to others.
Thank you so much for sharing and making MS bearable! Thank you so much for helping me to let the mess out and not really caring if it gets cleaned up!
Love you both!
Tracy”
