““It’s inconceivable that the United Kingdom or the United States would take in 1 million brown people…” Those words were spoken by the host in the recent Germany new government episode.
Is that right?
According to Pew, “… European, Canadian, and other North American immigrants making up only a small share of the foreign-born population (13%) in 2018. Asians (28%), Mexicans (25%), and other Latin Americans (25%) each make up about a quarter of the US immigrant population…” That foreign-born population totals nearly 50 million people.
Pew’s breakdown suggests that the number of brown people taken in by the US is not less than 1 million, it’s over 35 million.
How in the world can this podcast operate with a host so ignorant about a topic as important as immigration? It’s stunning.”
