Engaging with a few annoyances
I have been quite engaged in this podcast. Have listened to the last two seasons. Two things that make it cringe-worthy and somewhat hard to listen to: the host has clearly added her questions during interviews in post production and they don’t sound authentic. It’s very distracting and frankly, disrespectful to the people she interviewed. It makes the interaction very disjointed. It’s kind of like bad acting. Maybe she could do a better job recording the original interview on her end? Also, the sound effects of gory moments are often waaaay too much. It was hard enough to listen to the details about Dahmer’s methods without having the sound of squishing brains etc in the background. Please tone this down as it makes the listener feel almost like they are involved in or a witness to the gruesome act itself. Other than those two things, I appreciate the immense time and effort given along with giving a place for family members to be heard.

Overdubbing the narrator’s interview parts isn’t making this any more captivating. It’s jarring, unprofessional and unnatural.
